Design is the most important aspect of a user’s experience. Whether you’re browsing a website, navigating a mobile app, or checking out an advertisement, it is the design that sucks you in (whether you’re aware of it or not).
Chuck Longanecker is the founder and CEO of Digital Telepathy, a user experience design company. For years, Digital Telepathy has successfully helped clients with user acquisition strategy, web application design, and mobile design. Longanecker is a leading expert in creative web design and brings every bit of his knowledge–along with some on point intuition–to his work.
A well thought out and visually appealing website can make or break a new business. Aside from content, design is usually the only thing a user interacts with. Longanecker says that one of the biggest mistakes he sees in his line of work is over-design. Too many colors, too many font types, and too much content can cause fatigue and confusion for the user. Users typically decide within the first five seconds whether to stay on a website, so designers and business owners need to make those first five seconds count.
Digital Telepathy is also working on what could be the future of website design. Find out what else Chuck Longanecker has to say about web design, user experience, and the future of websites in his Tech Cocktail interview. Here is the video.
