7 Startups Unveiled at LaunchBox Digital Durham Demo Day

Today in Durham, NC, seven new startups presented at the LaunchBox Digital 2010 Demo Day which is the culmination of 12 weeks of mentoring. This is LaunchBox Digital’s third year incubating new businesses and their first year in Durham, North Carolina. LaunchBox Digital was based in Washington, D.C. for the previous two years, where 17 companies were accelerated. Of those initial 17 companies, 9 received funding, 3 exited through acquisition and 10 are still alive today. It’s also worth noting that LaunchBox Digital was founded initially by current FCC Chairman Julius Genachowski, SBA Assoc. Admin. Sean Greene and former AOL CTO John McKinley who is the only remaining member of the team.

So let’s take a look at the seven startups that launched at LaunchBox Digital Demo Day 2011:

CityPockets – Real-time merchant CRM platform to help Daily Deal merchants convert new customers into regulars by capturing their contact info and offering follow-up deals.

Fiscal Pie

Fiscal Pie – Breaks the barrier between personal finance and social networks by providing an anonymous way for Facebook users to compare and learn about personal finance.

HealtheMe

HealtheMe – Digital therapeutics platform delivers treatments outside the clinic walls, empowering people to participate in their own health care with their mobile phones.

KeonaKeona Health – Medical triage webservice that optimizes visits and admissions to healthcare providers thereby improving quality of care and reducing healthcare costs.

Leaguescape

Leaguescape – Full fantasy sports betting platform that enables millions of players to not only bet on their fantasy sport leagues online but also integrates innovative daily games.

Slipstream
