This week we profile John Studdard, founding Board Member of Palm Beach Tech and serial software entrepreneur here in the Palm Beaches. Take a look at what John has to say below about his business and why Palm Beach is the place to be for an entrepreneur.
What does your business do?
Who are your clients?
Our clients are non-profits like the American Cancer Society, Boys & Girls Clubs, United Way, and the Palm Beach Zoo. We also do work with several socially responsible companies.
What inspired you to become an entrepreneur?
I’ve become inspired to be an entrepreneur because of my passion for building stuff through technology. I’ve been involved in several software companies and startups in South Florida since 1993.
Of most recent, I was the Co-Founder & Managing Partner of Big Couch Media, a full-service interactive agency that merged with Forte Interactive in 2016 to create the Achieve Agency.
What’s your favorite part about what you do?
Helping our clients change the world at scale is my favorite part about what I do.
What are three fun facts about yourself?
Three fun facts about myself are that I was a race car driver (car guy), a commercial pilot (plane guy), and now a town councilman for Lake Clarke Shores as well.
Why the Palm Beaches?
The Palm Beaches are my home – I grew up on Jupiter Farms and Palm Springs. I have left twice; once for the Navy serving aboard P-3 Orions, and once for College at the University of Houston. I always come back to the Palm Beaches.
How has Palm Beach Tech helped you?
Palm Beach Tech has always been there to help our company, by providing access to talent and the occasional business lead. Most importantly they’re growing the South Florida Tech community into a true tech hub.
