Amazon Prime Big Deal Days Announced for October 8th to 9th

Amazon's Prime Big Deal Days are set to return on October 8-9 and the company has published tips on how to get what you want.

Amazon is urging Prime members to mark two days at the beginning of October in their calendars.

Its fall sales event – Prime Big Deal Days – is set to return on October 8-9.

Amazon is telling users to sign up to Prime for access to deals but also to set up notifications in their Wishlists for things that they have been waiting for.

How to Get Amazon Bargains

Announcing the dates, Amazon has also published some tips for shoppers as to how to get as much as possible from their two-day event.

First up – shoppers need to be Prime members and this will set you back $14.99 per month, or $139 per year if you pay annually. There are some discounted membership options for students, young adults and qualifying government assistance recipients, including those using SNAP EBT and Medicaid.

Once signed up, shoppers can use Alexa to set up personal deal notifications through the Amazon Shopping app for items that they have “Saved for Later” or have in a Wishlist. Amazon has also created gift guides for those who want to browse, including a Holiday Guide and Toys We Love List.

What Will be in the Amazon Prime Sale?

Brands including LEGO, Beats, Squishmallows, Disney and Samsung have products going on offer in what the company says is an early chance for Prime users to get ahead with their Christmas shopping.

But there will also be savings on Halloween costumes and winter fashion “must-haves”, it says.

Beauty and fashion brands including Clinique, Too Faced, Florence by Mills, Cider, and Aéropostalen are on the list as well as hosting and home décor brands like NEST New York, Lenox, and Lodge. Some deals have already gone live, including offers from smaller businesses and from Amazon Music.

The sales could prove the perfect opportunity for Amazon staff to pick up some new workwear, after being told this week that they’ll need to return to the office five days a week, come January.

Amazon Bets Big on Prime Day

With competition ramping up from Chinese store like Temu, Prime Day is a big one for Amazon. Sales take place around the world, including new addition, Turkey. Digital Commerce 360 estimates Amazon’s sales on Prime Day in July, 2023 hit almost $13 billion globally.

It has also been a tumultuous time for the company in the past with strikes and walkouts on Prime Day in October, 2022.  Amazon will be hoping for smooth sailing and big sales this year as the economic storms continue.
