Dreamforce 2024: AI Takes Center Stage With Agentforce

Dreamforce 2024 has been an excellent launch opportunity for Agentforce, the new customizable AI system from Salesforce.

Dreamforce 2024 is currently in full swing, with engaging sessions and reputable speakers gracing the stage at the Moscone Center in San Francisco. While huge names like Matthew McConaughey and Mark Cuban are poised to appear, there is one attendee that is very much stealing the spotlight: artificial intelligence.

With Salesforce itself dubbing Dreamforce 2024 as, “the largest AI event in the world,” the company is clearly positioning the conference as a jumping off point for its newest AI innovations.

One of these innovations is Agentforce, a new platform that allows users to “build and customize autonomous AI agents” to improve their businesses. The system was announced on Thursday before Dreamforce 2024, but the conference is proving to be a huge launch opportunity for Salesforce.

What Is Agentforce?

Announced by Salesforce on Thursday, Agentforce is a suite of AI automation features that will streamline operations across service, sales, marketing, and commerce systems.

The service will replace the current “copilots” available from Salesforce, aiming for as many as one billion AI agents by the end of 2025.

“Unlike other platforms, Agentforce is a revolutionary and trusted solution that seamlessly integrates AI across every workflow, embedding itself deeply into the heart of the customer journey. This means anticipating needs, strengthening relationships, driving growth, and taking proactive action at every touchpoint.” – Marc Benioff, Chair and CEO, Salesforce.

While current AI solutions from Salesforce rely heavily on human requests and struggle mightily with multi-step instructions, the new Agentforce will provide intuitive guidance based on the wealth of data already available in the Salesforce system.

AgentForce at Dreamforce 2024

While Agentforce was technically announced before Dreamforce 2024 had even started, the conference has very much been the launch site for the new system.

In fact, there is even a dedicated “Launch Zone” at Dreamforce 2024 that is dedicated to giving attendees a chance to create their own AI chabots. In this area, attendees are given 1-to-1 training on how to get started with building a customizable AI chatbot to improve functionality across their businesses.

Many of the talks and sessions around Dreamforce 2024 are talking about Agentforce. Marc Benioff himself announced the Agentforce Partner Network, a variety of businesses that have already begun building AI chatbots with Agentforce that can be accessed through the Salesforce AppExchange.

Some big-name companies have already joined the Agentforce Partner Network, too, including Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud, IBM, and Workday — extending the functionality of Salesforce with “a whole new generation of Apps on the platform.”

AI at Dreamforce 2024

Agentforce isn’t the only discussion of AI taking place at Dreamforce 2024. In fact, the conference is filled with business leaders from across the tech industry discussing the implications of the burgeoning technology.

Heck, even the Governor of California sat down for a fireside chat with Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff to discuss AI and how much of an impact it has had on the business world over the last few years, and how lawmakers are trying to keep up.

“Right now, for me, I’ve got 991 bills on my desk and about 38 of them are in this space.” – Gavin Newsom, Governor of California

Newsom put his money where his mouth is too, signing three bills on stage with the Salesforce CEO. The bills in question dealt with the labeling and removal of problematic content generated by AI around elections and curbing deepfake technology.
