As we mentioned, RingCentral offers three different pricing plans — Core, Advanced, and Ultra – each offering an increasing number of features and functionality for your VoIP needs. Read on for more in-depth information about what these plans offer.
Core – $20 per user per month
- Best for small businesses with fairly basic VoIP needs
As you can guess from the name, Core is the first plan from RingCentral and it provides, you guessed it, the core essentials of VoIP technology for your business. On this plan, you’ll get unlimited calls to the US and Canada, voicemail-to-text functionality, and call management functions like call queues as well as phone system administration.
On top of that, you’ll get a few basic team management features, including team messaging and document sharing. There’s also a video meeting functionality for up to 100 participants, which should be more than enough for most businesses. You’ll also get access to other great features like call recording, unlimited audio conferences, and a multi-level auto attendant. Unlike many entry-level plans with similar price points, like Vonage Mobile, the plan also gives users access to 24/7 customer support. This makes the plan great value for businesses getting to grips with VoIP technology for the first time, especially if they operate outside normal working hours.
Overall, this plan is aimed at smaller businesses looking for rudimentary VoIP technologies to handle the primary communication needs of their team. It’s a solid starter package and will be able to meet the needs of most small teams. However, if you’re in need of a combined web conferencing and VoIP package you’d be better off upgrading to RingCentral’s Advanced tier.
The Core plan costs $20 per user per month, paid annually, and $30 per user per month, paid monthly.
Advanced – $25 per user per month
- Best for remote and hybrid businesses
On the Advanced plan, you’ll have all the video conferencing functionality from the Core plan. Our research shows that RingCentral is one of the top video conferencing options on the market, so access to this feature is a big boon for small businesses that might not want to pay for an additional service. This makes the plan especially useful for hybrid and fully remote businesses looking for a versatile way to communicate outside the office.
In the Advanced plan, there’s automatic call recording, a hot desking feature, a virtual receptionist, and conversation-based features like call monitoring, whisper, and barge, which are great for training staff as they give supervisors a way to monitor and intervene with calls in real time. The Advanced plan also unlocks a bunch of integrations, including Salesforce, Zendesk, Canvas, and Smarsh. You even get access to custom integrations, which seriously gives you the power to run your VoIP system.
Despite this plan’s potential, it has limits. Unlike RingCentral’s Ultra plan, it places caps on file sharing, team messaging, and storage for files and recordings. It also doesn’t let businesses customize reporting templates, making business insights more generic. For most businesses, this shouldn’t pose an issue. However, for larger, enterprise businesses and those that manage large call volumes like contact centers, this plan may fall short.

Ultra – $35 per user per month
- Best for larger businesses and contact centers
If you’ve got a bigger budget, and lean heavily on VoIP solutions in your day-to-day operations, chances are RingCentral Ultra will be your best bet. Its advanced feature offering naturally makes it a bit more expensive, but it easily provides the best value out of any other RingCentral plan in this guide.
RingCentral Ultra provides unlimited storage, 8-digit extensions, end-to-end encryption for video and messaging, and real-time analytics to help your business learn more about how it functions. This used to be the only RingCentral plan with single sign-on functionality, which can really help the security of your system – but now, RingCentral offers this on all of its plans.
You also get bumped up to 200 participants for video meetings and call recording is automatic or on-demand, as it is on the Advanced plan. Compared to similarly priced plans by Ooma and Vonage which lack advanced analytics tools, RingCentral offers a great value for money, helping to justify its slightly larger price point of $35 per user per month, paid annually, or $45 per user per month, paid monthly.

RingCentral Add-On Costs
RingCentral offers great features in its main offering. But for businesses looking to augment their service with specific capabilities, you can also purchase software add-ons at a premium. For those interested in expanding RingCentral’s basic packages, we outline the costs of these add-ons below.

- Additional international numbers – If your business conducts business internationally, you can add extra international numbers to your plan for $5.99 per user, per month.
- Additional international toll-free numbers – You can also add international toll-free numbers, for the higher price of $14.99 per user, per month or $25 up-front.
- Additional toll-free or local numbers – Businesses making predominantly domestic calls are able to add local or toll-free numbers for $4.99 per month.

- Ring Central Events – RingCentral Events is an AI-powered onsite, hybrid, and virtual event planning platform accessible to RingCentral customers. The app costs $750 per license, per use.
