Perhaps the biggest boon for Fleetio users is the analytics tools available. Particularly for the price, Fleetio offers some serious reporting functionality that is in-depth and customizable.
For starters, we found that the home dashboard provides a wealth of information right away, setting us up with data visualizations and other valuable information that helped us stay on top of our fleet. It was also very customizable, allowing us to mix and match widgets to create a custom reporting dashboard that fits our needs.
Beyond that, though, Fleetio also has a detailed Reports section, which allowed us to create custom reports for everything from vehicles and inspections to work order and fuel tracking. In fact, this section was so in-depth that it was honestly a bit intimidating, with dozens of potential reports available, even with nothing more than sample data from the company.
If you know what you’re looking for, though, or if you’re familiar with fleet management software, this kind of feature could represent a huge selling point, especially at such a low price.

It’s worth noting, however, that Fleetio does not offer 24/7 live chat support, so you will have to wait for business hours to solve your problem. Fleetio support is available from 8am-8pm (EST) from Monday-Friday, so try to avoid those weekend issues if you can.

Fleetio Ease of Use
We had a chance to get a hands-on look at Fleetio, testing out the platform for ourselves to give you the best insights to make a decision for your business.
In our time with the software, we found it quite easy to use, with a clearly labeled and intuitive interface that allowed us to easily navigate to the many areas of the platform. The home dashboard was filled with a wide range of customizable data visualizations, and the side bar menu made it easy to find what we need, whether it be vehicle information, inspection tracking, service reminders, or equipment data.
The one aspect of the platform that could be a bit daunting for the uninitiated is the sheer volume of available data at your fingertips. The home dashboard makes it easy to see the basics, but the Reports section offers arguably too much data for the average user to even comprehend, let alone utilize in a meaningful way. Obviously, this is a double-edged sword, as fleet managers that need a lot of data will be pleased, but it could add a bit of unwanted stress for those hoping to navigate the platform without too much training.
All in all, we found Fleetio to be an excellent tool for fleet management with solid ease of use for average users, but all the analytics could pose a bit of a learning curve for those unfamiliar with business software like this.

Fleetio Go Mobile App
Fleet management isn’t some “stuck in the office” job that can all be done from a computer. In many cases, the ability to manage work orders and perform inspections on the go with a smartphone is a vital feature that could tip the scales for your business. Fleetio makes that kind of functionality possible through the Fleetio Go mobile app, which is available on Android and iOS on smartphones and tablets for all Fleetio paid plans, as well as with the free trial.
The Fleetio Go app has a wide range of features that can help you manage your fleet on the go. We were able to create work orders, perform vehicle inspections, track inventory, and even locate maintenance network shops directly on the app. Even better, the Search function made it easy to track down specific features and vehicles in the fleet, so we didn’t have to do a lot of navigating to perform actions.
As you can see in the screenshots below, the app interface is a bit basic, but it gets the job done and is very easy to use, even for beginners.

Unlike many fleet management providers out there, Fleetio offers clear and transparent pricing right out of the gate, so you don’t have to call up a sales team to get the information you need to make a decision. Fleetio offers three different pricing plans:

If you’re looking for a more robust platform that has extensive and impress live tracking features, Verizon Connect might be what you’re looking for. Considered by many to be the gold standard in the industry, Verizon Connect comes with any and all fleet management features you can imagine, along with 24/7 support, quick data refresh, and a vast selection of third-party integrations.
The biggest difference, though, is pricing. Not the actual cost of the two, because Verizon Connect does not offer publicly available pricing, but the contract length. Whereas Fleetio has a monthly option, Verizon Connect requires a three-year contract. Suffice to say, you better be in it for the long haul if you go with Verizon Connect.
