LogMeIn Brings New Features and Bundles to GoToConnect

The VoIP and collaboration software's updates aim to help businesses are shifting to flexible or permanent remote working.

LogMeIn has just unveiled new product bundles, as well as a handful of new features for its VoIP and collaboration software, GoToConnect. The updates are aimed at helping those who are permanently shifting to a flexible schedule that allows them to partially or fully work from home.

Thanks to a certain pandemic you might have heard of, employees and employers alike have embraced remote work like never before.

We don’t yet know the full impact of the shift to flexible working. But, one thing’s for sure: we’ll need new software infrastructures to make sure that everyone at an online-only workspace can find the tools and data they need when they need it. Will LogMeIn’s new updates help? We explain GoToConnect’s latest features.

The updates

Here are the four big upgrades to know about, all of which increase flexible work options in one way or another.

Updated Cloud Contact Center as a Service (CCaaS) solution

Cloud contact centers keep businesses running without the hassle of installing their own equipment, but they need airtight security protocols for obvious reasons. GoToConnect Support Center’s new updates give users Configurable Permissions and Customized Pause Reasons, two features that increase security and ensure call access is given only to those who need it. A 60-day free trial offer is now available for the service for the first time as well.

Additional features are on the way, though GoToConnect hasn’t specified exactly when we can expect them. “Coming soon” are Customizable Dashboards, Auto Queue Call Back, and Intelligent Call Routing.

Also on the way is a new product called “Revenue Center,” which supports outbound calling for sales teams, with features including Outbound Dialler, Pre-recorded Agent Messages, and a Coaching Assistant.

Refreshed mobile experience

Users could already use their mobile device to place calls without using their personal number, but now more features are available, including Find Me and Follow Me, Advance Call Flip, Shared Extension, and Voicemail Transcriptions. These all used to be desktop-only features.

Native integrations with Microsoft Teams

GoToConnect’s cloud phone system can now fully integrate with Microsoft Teams, with a new Microsoft Teams edition.

The catch: it’s a stripped-down version of GoToConnect, offer a voice-only version of the call service that can function within the Microsoft Teams interface; you won’t get GoToConnect’s Messaging and Meeting capabilities at all. Still, this is good news for any businesses that are addicted to Microsoft Teams.

Three new GoToConnect bundles

More flexible work schedules mean that new market niches are opening up. See if any of these three new bundles offers the services your workflow could benefit from:

  • GoToConnect Basic – Simplified cloud telephony, messaging and meetings: includes PBX, plus basic meeting and messaging features, and integrations with platforms including Outlook and GSuite.
  • GoToConnect Standard Plus – Cloud telephony, messaging, meetings, password management and virtual events, with real time analytics and GoToWebinar Lite, as well as LastPass Teams, the (good!) password management that LogMeIn tends to bundle in with everything.
  • GoToConnect Premium Plus – Everything from Standard Plus, along with video enabled rooms with GoToRoom, customer support with GoToConnect Support Center, the full version of GoToWebinar, GoToAssist for remote IT aid, LastPass Enterprise, and remote support for it all.

With one of these software bundles, businesses can shift their customer service calls and their internal meetings largely online without worrying about overloading their system.

GoToConnect vs Alternative VoIP Providers
