RingCentral’s VoIP pricing starts at $20 per user, per month for the core version of its VoIP service — called RingEX. There is no free plan available, but there is a 15-day free trial, so you can still test out the platform before making a financial commitment.
RingCentral provides a lot more than just VoIP services, too. The provider also offers a robust video conferencing tool — dubbed RingCentral Video — which you can access for free, or pay $10 per user, per month for more advanced functionality, like longer meetings, end-to-end encryption, and CRM integrations. On top of that, RingCentral offers a contact centre tool — called RingCX — which you can access for $65 per user, per month.
Our research found that RingCentral is one of the best VoIP providers on the market when it comes to hardware integration, security and customer support, but its first paid plan is pretty pricey. So, if you’re working with a tight budget, we’d suggest exploring a cheaper VoIP phone service, as there are more cost-effective yet capable options. RingCentral offers three different pricing plans for its VoIP service – Core, Advanced, and Ultra – each offering an increasing number of features and functionality for your VoIP needs. Read on for more in-depth information about what these plans offer.
Core – $20 per user per month
- Best for: small businesses with fairly basic VoIP needs
- Starts at $20 per user per month, paid annually, or $30 per user per month, paid monthly
As you can guess from the name, Core is the first plan from RingCentral and it provides, you guessed it, the core essentials of VoIP technology for your business.
Call management features
On this plan, you’ll get unlimited calls to the US and Canada, voicemail-to-text functionality, and functions like call queues, visual voicemail, an auto-attendant, AI-enhanced noise cancellation, and on-demand call recording.
Team management features
You’ll get a few basic team management features, including team messaging and document sharing. There’s also a video meeting functionality for up to 100 participants, which should be more than enough for most businesses.
Customer support
Unlike many entry-level plans with similar price points, like Vonage Mobile, the plan also gives users access to 24/7 customer support. This makes the plan great value for businesses getting to grips with VoIP technology for the first time, especially if they operate outside normal working hours.
Alternative communication channels
Aside from the video meeting, document sharing, and team messaging mentioned above, RingCentral also offers 25 Enhanced Business SMS messages per user, per month, with additional SMS available to purchase.
Advanced – $25 per user per month
- Best for remote and hybrid businesses
- Starts at $25 per user per month, paid annually, or $35 per user per month, paid monthly
Geared towards larger businesses than its predecessor, the Advanced plan nonetheless has its shortcomings.
Call management features
In the Advanced plan, there’s automatic call recording, a hot desking feature, a virtual receptionist, and conversation-based features like call monitoring, whisper, and barge, which are great for training staff as they give supervisors a way to monitor and intervene with calls in real time.
Team management features
In this area, the Advanced plan is not a great upgrade on Core. You’ll get the same limits for team messaging, file sharing, and video participants. You will unlock unlimited e-fax, which is great for businesses that want to leverage fax’s capabilities without the maintenance of a fax machine.
Integrations
This plan unlocks a bunch of integrations, including Salesforce, Zendesk, Canvas, and Smarsh. You even get access to custom integrations, which seriously gives you the power to run your VoIP system. These options aren’t available on the starter plan, which is quite common across the VoIP landscape.

Ultra – $35 per user per month
- Best for larger businesses and contact centers
- Starts at $35 per user per month, paid annually, or $45 per user per month, paid monthly
If you’ve got a bigger budget, and lean heavily on VoIP solutions in your day-to-day operations, chances are RingCentral Ultra will be your best bet. Its advanced feature offering naturally makes it a bit more expensive, but it easily provides the best value out of any other RingCentral plan in this guide.
Call management features
RingCentral Ultra offers 10,000 toll-free numbers and minutes, advanced rules and routing on its call queues, 8-digit extensions, end-to-end encryption for video and messaging, and real-time analytics to help your business learn more about how it functions.
Team management features
You’ll get bumped up to 200 participants for video meetings, unlimited storage for team messaging and file sharing, and unlimited storage for files, messaging, transcription, notes, and recordings. What’s more, you’ll be able to access AI Assistant for team messaging.

Analytics
Ultra is the first plan in which you’ll unlock Business Analytics Pro, which allows you to customize your reports and analytics. On the previous plan, this feature is only available as a paid add-on. Additionally, you’ll also get device analytics and alerts.

RingCentral Add-On Costs
RingCentral offers great features in its main offering. But for businesses looking to augment their service with specific capabilities, you can also purchase software add-ons at a premium. For those interested in expanding RingCentral’s basic packages, we outline the costs of these add-ons below.
- Additional vanity numbers – Users can create a customizable phone number that uses recognizable patterns of numbers and letters for a fee of $30 up-front plus a $4.99 setup fee.
- RingCentral Rooms license – Businesses can transform their meeting spaces into enabled video conferencing destinations, for a fee of $49 per room, per month, or $468 annually.
- RingCentral Room Connector license – Businesses with existing equipment can enable their third-party SIP-based hardware with RingCentral for $49 monthly per concurrent endpoint, or $468 annually.
- Push to Talk license – Push to Talk is a mobile add-on that allows for instant voice communication among team members. The extra costs $5 per user, per month.
- Additional international numbers – If your business conducts business internationally, you can add extra international numbers to your plan for $5.99 per user, per month.
- Additional international toll-free numbers – You can also add international toll-free numbers, for the higher price of $14.99 per user, per month or $25 up-front.
- Additional toll-free or local numbers – Businesses making predominantly domestic calls are able to add local or toll-free numbers for $4.99 per month.
- RingCentral Webinar™ – If you want to access RingCentral’s AI-powered webinar solution, you can integrate your VoIP system with the service for $40 per organizer, per month.
- RingCentral Events – RingCentral Events is an AI-powered onsite, hybrid, and virtual event planning platform accessible to RingCentral customers. It costs $1,490 per license, per year.
- RingSense for Sales – RingSense for Sales is a conversation intelligence platform designed to evaluate the sales performance of sales teams. Businesses can access the service for $60 per user.
- RingCX AI Contact Center – Businesses can improve customer engagement and employee satisfaction with RingCentral’s bespoke contact center. The service costs $65 per user.

Hardware options
In addition to software add-ons, RingCentral is also one of the better VoIP providers when it comes to desk phone compatibility. The company presents its customers with two choices – you can either purchase a plug-and-play phone from the provider directly, or Bring Your Own Device.

RingCentral Video pricing – $10 per user, per month
RingCentral is not only a VoIP service, but also a top video conferencing platform. In fact, our research found that RingCentral offers the best video conferencing platform for small businesses, thanks to its generous call limits, robust customizability, and affordable price tag.
RingCentral does offer a free video plan – called Video Pro – but with some notable restrictions, such as 50-minute and 100-participant meeting limits. You can, however, pay $10 per user, per month for the RingCentral Video Pro+ plan, which gives you access to advanced analytics, third-party integrations, and end-to-end encryption.
Even better – the free version of RingCentral Video is built into the VoIP service, so you’ll be able to launch video meetings and make internal and external audio calls all on the same platform.
On the pricing front, RingCentral Video stacks up pretty well against the competition. Its first paid plan is cheaper than the equivalent Zoom plan, which costs $13.32 per host, per month. It is, however, more expensive than Google Meet’s first paid plan, which starts at just $6 per user, per month.

RingCX pricing – $65 per user, per month
If you need more than a top cloud phone system, RingCentral also offers a contact center tool – called RingCX – that costs $65 per user, per month. This service is designed to improve customer experiences at your business, allowing you to create an omnichannel support platform for your team to solve problems quickly and efficiently.
Even better, RingCX is equipped with a wide range of AI-powered tools, so you can automate operations to save time. You’ll also be able to get AI-powered insights for your team to improve productivity and upskill your team while they’re on the job.
In addition to RingCX, there’s also the RingCentral Contact Center Enterprise plan, which adds advanced functionality like guided customer journeys, keyword tracking, post-call speech analytics, and agent notifications. Ooma – pricing starts at $19.95 per user per month
If you’re looking for a VoIP provider that is geared towards medium to large businesses, Ooma is definitely worth considering. Its higher tiers are priced at $24.95 per user, per month and $29.95 per user, per month respectively, which is pretty reasonable when compared to some of Ooma’s competitors. Smaller businesses might be deterred by the entry price point of $19.95 per user, per month, however.

In addition to RingCentral’s excellent suite of features and streamlined user experience, the provider also offers 24/7 support options in all of its tiers, making it an especially great value for businesses using VoIP technology for the first time.
However, RingCentral won’t be perfect for all businesses. It offers no free service for small businesses with limited budgets, and its call-handling features are slightly less sophisticated than those offered by 8×8.
