However, while Apple recently ordered its workforce back into its Cupertino headquarters three days a week, the company is still hiring for lots of fully remote roles, opening up opportunities for candidates wanting to work for the company while still enjoying the benefits of flexible working.

Do Remote Apple Workers Get The Same Benefits As Office Dwellers?

If you choose to work remotely for Apple, you won’t be able to sample the in-person benefits that come with its Cuperono headquarters, or its Austin or Elk Grove locations. Specifically, you’ll miss out on subsidized food from on-site cafeterias, as well as unlimited free tea and coffee.

However, the amount of bucks you’ll save on committing or relocating should be able to cover these costs and more. What’s more, fully remote Apple workers are also entitled to the company’s full raft of employee benefits, including comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage, life and disability insurance, and $300 in gym credits each month.

Apple also has a unique Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP) which encourages employees to invest in the company’s stock grant by giving them a 15% stock purchase discount. Workers are also entitled to 15 to 20 days paid time off (PTO) per year, and this allowance stretches to 20-30 for senior employees. While this amount is pretty generous for US standards, it’s far from the unlimited PTO allowance you’re entitled to with companies like Microsoft and Netflix.

Is Being an Apple At Home Advisor the Dream College Job?

Looking for a student job to earn some cash while you study? Apple’s Support College Program offers students an opportunity to work remotely as At Home Advisors. The role requires you to provide technical support to Apple customers, helping them resolve technical queries with their iPhones, iPads, and MacBooks as a result.

If you’re not a tech pro, this shouldn’t be an issue either. Apple enrolls each At Home Advisor into a nine-week online training course, where they learn everything they need to know about the role including information about Apple products, troubleshooting techniques, and customer service practices.

To be eligible for the job you need to be able to work 20 hours, have a cumulative GPA of 2.7 or higher, and have a baseline understanding of operating systems. These might sound like pretty tough stipulations, but it’s likely to be worth it, with At Home Advisors receiving competitive salaries, paid time off, discounts on Apple products, and a range of educational reimbursements.

However, if you don’t meet the eligibility requirements, or your skillsets lie elsewhere, there are tons of other ways to rake in income alongside your studies. Here’s our round-up of some great part-time remote opportunities that you can pursue while grinding as a full-time student.
