Bid on Local Services with Bidzy

Lindsey C. Holmes

Bidzy allows local service providers to place bids on services such as haircuts, nails, automotive services, etc., through their mobile app or website. A customer specifies when they need the service, how far they'd like to travel for the service, the minimum rating for the provider, and how much they are willing to pay. Bidzy then vets qualified merchants to see who is willing and available to accept your appointment.

Once the merchant accepts, your appointment is automatically scheduled. There are a number of service providers offering fire sale offers or even closing on slow days to offset the loss of business due to the economy. Bidzy is a reasonable alternative to this problem. Instead of closing your salon on Wednesday's, let Bidzy send you a client. Though you may have to offer a discount, that's better than nothing!

Bidzy was one of the finalists in the Startup Battlefield at TechCrunch Disrupt’s 2013 Startup competition. The winner receives $50,000 to aid in startup funding and a shiny silver prize cup.
