Wix has announced a limited-time half price sale on its website builder plans, with a 50% off deal beginning today and ending on Wednesday.

The half price sale is open to new users and anyone currently using Wix's free plan. This means you can access one of the best website builders and ecommerce platforms on the market from as little as $6.50 per month.

With the Covid-19 lockdown giving plenty of people the extra time and incentive to build their own website, Wix's offer is particularly timely.

Let's take a closer look at the new deal, and whether Wix is the right platform for you.

How much can You Save with the Wix Deal?

With the deal, budding website owners will be able to save 50% on all Wix pricing plans. There are only two catches: the savings only apply to annually billed plans, and you've only got until Wednesday to take advantage of the savings.

However, the deal means that anyone is able to save a small fortune on a new website or online store. Let's take a look at the savings you could make:

How Good is Wix for Building Websites?

Wix is the best website builder on the market, based on our own independent testing and user feedback. In fact, here at Tech.co, we put every website builder through a series of stringent user tests to work out which ones you should bother with and which you shouldn't — and Wix scored better than any of its rivals.

Wix scored an unmatched 4.5 out of 5 in our tests while its closest rival Squarespace could only muster 4 out of 5.

We loved Wix's simplicity and its excellent customer support and help center. What's more, Wix scored highly in our value for money category — meaning that this new 50% off deal is even better value.

How to Build a Site Using Wix

Getting started with Wix is super straightforward.

Head over to Wix.com and pick a template for your website. There are more than 600 to choose from and, while that might seem daunting, most are designed with specific types of website in mind. For example, if you're looking to build a photography site, there are 40 to choose from.

Then, you can start editing your site, making changes as you see fit. If you're not certain where to start with creating a site, you can check out our guide on what makes a good website for inspiration.

Then, you can pick your pricing plan and publish!
