For the latter part of college and a bit of time afterwards, I thrived on waking up early; on a typical day, I would wake up between the hours of 4:30 AM and 5:30 AM, and get ahead on my morning routine. It was great, and overall it made my mornings more productive. But waking up early isn’t easy for everybody, and luckily there are a few tips that may help if you’re trying to wake up earlier this year.
There are many ways to create a productive morning routine, but there’s no better way to boost morning productivity than actually waking up early. The logic here is founded mostly in time: the earlier you wake up, the more hours you have to do more things. It’s difficult for some people to get into the groove of early mornings, though. According to recent research, humans are naturally predispositioned to have one of four different types of sleep schedules, so it’s natural if many among us just can’t get used to early mornings; however, for those wanting to wake up earlier (even by just a few minutes) this year, all hope is not lost.
Business Insider created the infographic below on tips for waking up early. They used info from a 2013 Funders and Founders post and turned it into an updated infographic. Check out the 9 tips for waking up early:
