Hard-Hitting Entrepreneur Cindy Gallop Says “Make Love Not Porn”

Kira M. Newman

Cindy Gallop is older, female, and working on a startup related to sex – not the greatest combination for finding venture capital, she says. But with her sharp independence and honest vivacity, she sure makes for an inspiring entrepreneur.

Gallop launched Make Love Not Porn (NSFW) to a few giggles and much chatter at TED in 2009. The site aims to debunk the myths perpetuated by hardcore porn and will soon be paired with MakeLoveNotPorn.tv. She’s also the creator of If We Ran the World, a platform that turns good intentions into actions.

At our SXSW #StartupLife Celebration last weekend, Gallop explained the goal of Make Love Not Porn, her hiring philosophy of “great and nice,” her favorite part of startup life, and her biggest motivation. Watch the video featuring Cindy Gallop below.
