If you’re just starting off with a website and you need those added business features, Weebly’s Personal plan is a great place to start. At only $6 per month, it’s one of the more affordable website builder paid plans on the market.

With this plan, you get virtually all the ecommerce features found in higher tier plans, like inventory management, shopping carts, shipping and tax calculators, among others. Plus, you can connect a custom domain, which is a great way to get noticed on Google.

It is missing a few key features though. You don’t get a free domain, you don’t get unlimited storage, and you miss out on some of the more advanced site stats that can help you make smart decisions moving forward with your site. Still, if you’re a small business with limited visitors, Weebly’s value is pretty good given the decidedly low price.

The Weebly Professional Plan

Best for growing businesses that need more storage

This plan is where the real value of Weebly can be experienced. At $12 per month, the Professional plan is still quite affordable. It’s cheaper than Wix’s first paid plan (Combo), which only allows for 3GB of storage (Weebly’s professional plan is unlimited, on the other hand), and will cost you the same as Squarespace’s Personal plan – part of the reason Weebly scored full marks (5/5) for value for money when Tech.co put the best website builders to the test.

The Professional plan unlocks a whole bunch of other features not found in the Personal plan. For one, you get a free domain, which is always a nice perk. Additionally, you’ll get the aforementioned unlimited storage for your site, which never hurts when you plan on scaling up down the line.

You’ll also get advanced site stats – which aren’t available for Squarespace users on the provider’s similarly-priced ‘Personal plan’ – allowing you to ramp up your reporting and analytics capabilities and inform your actions further down the line in terms of optimizing your site. This plan also comes with password protection and phone support.

The only thing you’re missing out on with this plan, rather than the more expensive Performance plan, is a lack of advanced ecommerce features. Still though, if you aren’t running an ecommerce business, or if you think your ecommerce can easily be handled by the core ecommerce features available, this plan just makes sense.

Plus, both Wix and Squarespace have severely limited e-commerce options in their plans that hover around a similar price point – Squarespace, for example, doesn’t include any ecommerce features on its Personal plan, which is the same price as The Weebly Professional plan.

The Weebly Performance Plan

If you’re an ecommerce business that needs a website to handle your many transactions, you’re going to want to invest in the Performance plan from Weebly. This robust option comes with a whole bunch of advanced ecommerce features that will take your store to the next level.

In addition to the core ecommerce features available in other plans, the Performance plan offers PayPal payments, item reviews, shipping labels, and abandoned cart follow-up emails. Plus, with advanced ecommerce insights, you’ll know exactly who is buying what and from where. You’ll also get priority support, so you can solve any problems in a flash.

To be honest though, if you aren’t expecting to sell a lot of products, this plan might be a bit out of your price range. The advanced ecommerce features are great, but they come at more than double the cost of the previous plan, so make sure to take stock of your ecommerce expectations before committing to this plan.

Does Weebly have a free plan?

Yes, Weebly does have a free plan, and it’s actually pretty solid. It comes with a few ecommerce features, including unlimited items, shopping carts, in-store pickup, and inventory management, and you’ve got a free SSL certificate, so you know your site will be secure.

As you can imagine though, the plan is quite limited in a lot of ways. No custom domain, no digital goods in your ecommerce store, no shipping functionality, and no pop-up notifications to market your customers even more. Squarespace is another website builder that we rank just slightly above Weebly, as its ecommerce features are extremely robust, even at lower price plans, which gives Weebly a run for its money.

Squarespace may start at a higher price, but its mid-tier plan (the Commerce plan) is the same price as Weebly’s robust ecommerce plan (the Performance plan), and adds a wide range of features that can really supercharge your online store.
